Under the leadership and guidance of Head Mistress Ms Memoona Tabassum, with a dedicated staff of around 70 teachers and 1753 students comprising grade 3,4 and 5 Upper Primary Girls Section has always surpassed its own preceding accomplishments to fulfil its mission of sculpting students into leaders of future and nurturing young minds to become self-disciplined and confident as they grow.

STUDENT CABINET

The selection of cabinet members is a salient process done through a series of evaluation. After being selected by an honourable panel, the cabinet members are assigned with their respective duties, which play an immensely valuable role in maintaining the discipline of the section. Our cabinet members bring pride to UPGS.

Are an integral part of UPGS academics which are conducted to inculcate important values in students and make them aware of the importance and purpose of celebrating important days .

LIBRARY WEEK

ACADEMICS

There are five main subjects and Auxilliary subjects. Various competitions, quizzes and activities are conducted to motivate them to study and help them to stay focused.

Children enjoyed many activities which promoted creativity in students.

Various Co Curricular Activities were conducted in which students showcased their talent with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.

Pioneers club celebrated its 10h anniversary which is a platform where students can showcase their talent and abilities .The various clubs being Literary club, Math club, Young Scientist club, Health and Hygiene club, Eco club, Art and Craft club and Heritage club.

BULBUL

DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES OF BULBULS CONDUCTED DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR ‘ 2019-2020’.

Aims: To contribute the development of young children to achieve their physical, intellectual,emotional, social & environmental potentials.

*develop character , perseverance and, discipline. * prepare themselves to help or serve others.

ACTIVITIES :

1. ‘Peace March’ in the school campus was organised on Sir Robert Baden Powell’s birthday. On the same day saplings were planted in the school campus along with school Principal and HM’s.
2. Outdoor camp was organised at AL MARJAAN ISLAND.
3. Indian Coast guard ship “SAMUDRA PAHERDAR “was visited with 24 senior Bulbuls with bulbul co coordinator.

4 .Conducted Gandhi Jayanthi assembly with colourful programmes.

SPORTS

IISD Strives in holding regular weekly Games classes and provides training for all the students. Regular Mass PT is being conducted. This rhythmic exercise helps the children to grow healthy and in a disciplined manner. An Annual Sport meet is organized along with the provision of certificates, Medals and Championship Cups being issued to the winners. Apart from these, At our Upper Primary Girl’s Section,various sports events have been organized during the academic year such as Running Race, Skipping Race, Step-On Race, Book-Balance Race, Duck-Walking Race, Lemon & Spoon Race, Hoola – Hoop Race, Overall Championship. Group events like Kho-Kho, Dodge ball, and Relay race were also conducted.

The section also witnessed Sports Day, Pioneers Day, Library week, Kinder Fiesta and was an active participant in foundation day.

A grand Investiture ceremony of UPGS student cabinet members is conducted where head girl, assistant head girl, House captains and vice captains are sworn in along with class prefects.
