BOYS SECONDARY SECTION (BSS)

The Boys Secondary Section comprising of 1100 students, caters to boys in the age group of 14 – 17 years, Classes IX –X. BSS endeavours to forge a symbiotic partnership between the parents and the school community to strengthen the foundation required for the students’ success and progress. BSS is committed to academic excellence and holistic development by providing a healthy and supportive environment, where students are nurtured to be self-directed, life-long learners Proper prescribed school uniform, regular attendance and circumspect behaviour from students is expected at all times.
BSS has a highly qualified and dedicated team of 48 teachers who aim to provide a holistic education that nurtures intellect, fires the imagination and develops character.
CLASS X BOARD RESULTS ( 2019-20)
The result of Class X have been exceedingly impressive with 100% in 2019. 406 boys appeared at Class X. In terms of grade points 43 students secured 90% and above , while 106 students secured 80% and above, 98 students secured 70% and above and the remaining below 70%.
LIBRARY / LABORATORIES:
The section has a well-resourced library consisting of over 20,000 books, fully automated and the circulation desk is manned by trained staff. Effective teaching and learning of science and computer Science involves combining classroom teaching with laboratory experiments to ensure deeper understanding and longer retention in children. In order to accomplish this goal, BSS is equipped with modern, well-equipped laboratories for Science & Technology.
MORNING ASSEMBLIES / SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES:
Assemblies are conducted every Tuesday and Thursday, which helps the students to develop self-confidence, public speaking skills and provide an opportunity to nurture their theatrical and oratory skills. The spectrum of presentations encompasses a vast array of themes and topics.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT:
Inter – House Competitions – Debate, Elocution, Essay Writing , Article Writing .
FIELD / EDUCATIONAL TRIPS : Every academic year the students are taken to field and educational trips which helps the students to rewind and de-stress before they plunge themselves into the preparation for the annual exam.
CO CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Co-curricular activities compliment the curricular activities and groom the students in the ‘ Art of living and working together’. These activities are organized house wise amongst the 6 Houses
Amethyst, Diamond, Emerald, Garnet, Sapphire and Topaz. Inter- House Competitions are conducted for Wall magazines, classroom decoration, Quiz, Debate, Elocution, Essay Writing , etc.
Students participate in National and International level competitions , organized by various agencies as well as under the auspices of CBSE. Asia Net Think and Learn Challenge, Maths Olympiad, Painting competition, Green Olympiad, Quiz , etc.
SPORTS /SCOUTS ACTIVITIES
The BSS Sports Day is observed every year for two consecutive days during which House wise competitions are organized in Basket Ball, Football, Volley Ball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Athletics, etc. Our students are provided with opportunity to compete in higher level sports events at the Zonal, Cluster and National Meets. A huge multipurpose hall is available for indoor games. A modern multi-purpose gymnasium with high tech equipments for physical training is open for students during and after school hours under supervision.
PERFORMANCE OF BSS:
The students of BSS performed a musical play MAHATMA GANDHI – LEGACY FOR ETERNITY, in the Embassy of Riyadh, to mark the 150th Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations.
CAREER GUIDANCE CELL (CGC)
BSS offers our teenagers counselling, guidance and information on various courses offered by Universities and Educational Institutions in India and Overseas. CGC also conducts career talks by professionals from various fields. Career Fair is conducted annually with participation of leading educational institutions.
